The Washo (Washoe) tribe lives in Nevada and California near Lake Tahoe. The area they lived allowed them to obtain food by hunting, gathering and fishing. Curtis created a total of twelve (12) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Washo and eight (8) remain available to collectors today.
