The Flathead occupied the land of what is now western Montana, U.S. and their territory extended from the crest of the Bitterroot Range to the Continental Divide of the Rocky Mountains. Curtis created a total of thirty (30) photogravure plates from his visits with the Flathead and twenty-four (24) remain available to collectors today.
