The Mono tribe are from central Sierra Nevada, the Eastern Sierra, the Mono Basin and areas of the Great Basin. The main staple food of these hunter-gatherers were acorns. Curtis created eight (8) photogravure plates during his visits with the Mono tribe and four (4) remain available to collectors today.
