Nunivak

Nunivak Island is the 2nd largest island in the Bering Sea and the 8th largest U.S. island, located off the coast of Alaska. The Nunivalk Inuit (or Eskimo) people occupied lands in southwestern Alaska, between Bristol Bay and Norton Sound including Nunivak Island. Curtis created a total of thirty-eight (38) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Nunivak and thirty-six (36) remain available to collectors today.
