Kotzebue

The Kotzebue Eskimo lived in the northeastern part of Kotzebue sound, on a small peninsula jutting into the mouth of Hotham inlet. The village consists of a long row of frame or log houses built along the beach, as the land behind the village is very marshy. Curtis created a total of thirteen (13) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Kotzebue Eskimo and thirteen (13) remain available to collectors today.
