The areas of the Shoshone range from Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. Their name comes from a Shoshone word meaning high-growing grasses. Curtis created a total of eight (8) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Shoshone and seven (7) remain available to collectors today.
