Tiwa

The Tiwa people were divided into two Northern groups (Taos and Picuris) and two Southern groups (Isleta and Sandia) around what is now Albuquerque, New Mexico. There was also a fifth group (Ysleta del Sur) around what is now El Paso, Texas. Curtis created a total of twenty-nine (29) copper photogravure plates from his visits with the Tiwa and only twelve (12) remain available to collectors today.
