Hidatsa

The Hidatsa tribe are currently located in North Dakota.  They were horticulturists and hunters, raising corn, beans, squash and other vegetables which were used in trade.  They hunted bison, elk, pronghorn and others for furs and sustenance.  Curtis created twenty (20) photogravure plates during his visits with the Hidatsa tribe and sixteen (16) remain available to collectors today.
