The Comanche tribe is from the Great Plains whose territory originally consisted of most of present-day northwestern Texas, eastern New Mexico, southeastern Colorado, southwestern Kansas, and western Oklahoma.
Curtis created fifteen (15) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Comanche and ten (10) remain available to collectors today.
