The Chipewyan tribe are original people of northern Canada, especially the Northwest Territories, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. They Chipewyan moved in small groups or bands, consisting of several extended families, alternating between winter and summer camps. Curtis created a total of seven (7) copper photogravure plates during his visit with the Chipewyan and six (6) remain available to collectors today.
