The Blackfoot were a powerful buffalo-hunting tribe of the northern plains, with most of their settlements in Montana, Idaho, and Alberta. The Blackfeet were composed of three closely related bands, the Piegan, the Blood, and the Siksika. Curtis created a total of twenty-seven (27) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Blackfoot and fifteen (15) remain available to collectors today.
