The Atsina tribe lived in central Montana and now reside in northern Montana.  They are also known as Gros Ventre which translates to "big belly".  Curtis created a total of forty-four (44) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Atsina and thirty-five (35) remain available to collectors today.
