The Achomawi are a Northern California tribe, located in the Fall River and Pit River areas. Curtis created a total of eight (8) photogravure plates from his visits with the Achomawi, and seven (7) remain available to collectors today. The eighth plate was donated in the late 80’s to the Smithsonian Institute.
