The Kwakiutl tribe are from the Pacific Northwest Coast and they live in British Columbia, Canada. The Kwakiutl are made of four different bands; Kwakiutl, K’umk’utis, Kwixa and the Walas Kwakiutl. Curtis created fifty-eight (58) photogravure plates during his visits with the Kwakiutl tribe and forty-four (44) remain available to collectors today.
