The Diegueño tribe is also known as the Kumeyaay. They originally lived in areas that extended to both sides of the now US-Mexico border in Southern California. Curtis created a total of twenty-four (24) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Diegueño Tribe and seventeen (17) remain available to collectors today.
