The Wichita people originally lived near the Arkansas River in Kansas and by the late 1800’s had occupied areas in Texas until they were removed to the Wichita Reservation in Oklahoma. Curtis created a total of twenty (20) copper photogravure plates during his visits with the Wichita people and eighteen (18) remain available to collectors today.
