The Tewa are a linguistic group of Pueblo Native Americans from north of Santa Fe, New Mexico near the Rio Grande. Hano is a Tewa settlement in Arizona which was founded after the Pueblo revolt of 1680. Curtis created a total of forty-four (44) photogravure plates from his visits with the Tewa and all remain available to collectors today.
