The Havasupai tribe have lived in the Grand Canyon for at least the past 800 years and were located primarily in an area known as Havasu Canyon. By 1906, only 166 tribal members remained. Curtis created a total of eight (8) copper photogravure plates from his visits with the Havasupai and five (5) remain available to collectors today.
